STARTER – Build your start’up

In connection with the activities related to the project STARTER „Build your start-up” conducted by the Silesian University of Technology in Gliwice in cooperation with InnoEnergy, a number of meetings took place on following dates: 12-13.01, 19-20.01, 02-03.02, 26.02.2019. The workshops took place at Silesian University of Technology, at the Faculty Environmental and Energy Engineering council and were conducted by professional mentors:
• Pasternak Adam – Lotos group, Henkel, MAN Bus, Manager of developing projects
• Szczepaniak Rafał – Co-founder and HR Manager of the pracuj.pl portal, Investor

As part of the meetings, participants were trained in the knowledge related to building their own start-ups, which in turn allowed them to gain a range of skills related to:
• Team building
• Creating of the business model
• Market entry strategies
• Sales strategies
• Legal aspects
• Marketing strategies
• Financial management of investments

In order to summarize the workshops, the organizers arranged DemoDay on 26.02.2019 during which the teams presented their business ideas to the auditorium, including scientific staff of the Silesian University of Technology. On the DemoDay special quests were invited:
• Dean of the Faculty of Environmental Engineering and Power Engineering Prof. Ph.D., D. Sc. Eng. Andrzej Szlęk
• Head of the Department of Technologies and Installation for Waste Management, Clean Fossil and Alternative Fuels Energy Program Director, Ph.D., D. Sc. Eng. Krzysztof Pikoń

The presentation of business ideas created as part of the organized workshop was evaluated by a professional jury: Mr Michał Chojkowski, President of the Accelerator in Gliwice and Mr Maciej Majchrowicz, Business Developer Manager in Innoenergy.
The workshop was also an opportunity for alumni of Clean Fossil and Alternative Fuels Energy program to develop their business and presentations skills. In the conducted workshop two teams from CFAFE program enjoyed the workshops:

• The team Torrid represented by Filip Szelejewski, the alumni of CFAFE
• The team Degrum represented by Krzysztof Dekarz, the alumni of CFAFE
