Foster Wheeler Energia Polska, located in Sosnowiec is a polish company being a part of international enterprise with its seat in Switzerland. Together with Finnish Foster Wheeler Energy OY Group has been dealing with designing and supplying the CFB Boilers with auxiliary technology since 90s. Individual experience is dated even earlier since 70s when Foster Wheeler called Fakop has been supplying BFB boilers and then as a pioneer on Polish market also first CFB boilers for energy sector both sub- and supercritical. Continuously developing company invests in existing solutions and implements new technology which influence increment of unit’s efficiency. As an example there could be mentioned: BENSON technology – evaporator with vertically positioned pipes – which stabilizes work of boiler; heat recovery system aimed at flue gases – decreasing theirs temperature to 85°C – which increases net efficiency up to 43,4% in case of Łagisza Power Plant.

During study visit students will have a chance to learn how modern designing process of power boilers is conducted. Foster Wheeler is a deliverer of solutions for Power Plant Łagisza which is a destination of another study visit. In that way student the beginning of process of designing as well as know the final result – working installation.
