Why have you chosen the CFAFE program?
In this era, when world is facing energy crisis and pollution problems, this program is a step towards the solution of both of these problems at the same time. I have chosen program because they are not only looking for the new fuels but also trying to make the existing ones clean.

What are the unique values of the program for your personal development?
This program not only focuses on the engineering sciences but it also helps students enhance their soft-skills like leadership and entrepreneurial skills. This is a wonderful harmony of learning and applying the new technologies as there is a close collaboration with the industries. This programs also focusses on the management skills of the students to become the future leaders.

How participation in the programme may boost your career?
It is true that renewable fuels are less pollutant and they can also share some part in world’s energy requirement, but it is impossible to shift completely to renewables. So, these days, when everyone is running for renewables this program focusses on the fossil fuels and trying to make them burn cleanly. They have a close collaboration with industrial sector and they help us to find internship in some reputable companies. This start can help me boost my career. Moreover, they also encourage students for start-ups, this may help me in the future.

What is your feeling on studying in international and multicultural environment?
It is really an amazing experience to study with the people from the different cultures and languages. This interaction helps to think innovatively as this program is the hub of most talented people from different parts of the world. Okoro Faith from Nigeria, 1st year at AGH

Why have you chosen the CFAFE program?
The industrial revolution, which started a couple of hundred years ago, produced all sorts of technology that made an enormous impact on people’s lives. Now we’re about to go through another period of major change, where we shift from relying on carbon-intensive sources of energy such as oil and coal. Evidence is showing that burning oil and coal is contributing to global warming. So, we need new clean energy ideas to keep up with our demand for electricity without damaging our environment.

I chose this program because I believe in the future energy will come from a range of sources, combining the old with lots of new, clean energies and this program would give me the knowledge to drive the wave of change

What are the unique values of the program for your personal development?
I have made lot of presentations and my confidence has grown. I have been able to manage pressure and work under deadline. I understand the influence of teamwork and knowing that everyone opinon matters.

How participation in the programme may boost your career?
Industry specialists suggest that the future growth in the energy sector will be primarily in renewable energy. Courses we took such as fuel cells, has shown me that it, can be used to generate power, are thought to be a viable substitute for the internal combustion engine of transportation vehicles. Courses like Advanced Liquid Biofuel has shown that Biofuels can be produced from biomass, and if this can be done sustainably their impact on the climate will be smaller than that of fossil fuels.

From electric cars and propane vehicles to natural gas-powered buses and trucks that run on biodiesel, today’s options for alternative fuel vehicles are vast. Increasing the use of alternative fuels and vehicles will help reduce consumers’ fuel costs, minimize pollution and increase the nation’s energy security. This would be a career changing experience for me if I can carry out research and development of alternative fuels and vehicle technologies to provide consumers with cost-effective vehicle choices.

What is your feeling on studying in international and multicultural environment?
The idea of studying abroad was daunting at first and I was nervous as well as excited. Overcoming this initial difficulty in turn developed my maturity and my ability to handle new situations. One of the best things about studying in an international environment is that it brought me into contact with people from all over the world, meaning that I get to create a global network of contacts.

Mixing with people from all over the world has exposed me to a variety of different cultures, not to mention viewpoints I might not previously have considered. it’s the perfect opportunity for me to develop my Polish language skills like never.
