Inauguration of Academic Year 2017/2018 for MSC CFAFE students

Students of Clean Fossil and Alternative Fuels Energy from Silesian University of Technology in Gliwice and AGH University in Cracow participated in official opening ceremony of New Academic Year 2017/2018 held on 5 October 2017 at the Center of New Technologies in Gliwice.

In ceremony participated prof.  Andrzej Szlęk, dean of Faculty of Energy and Environmental Engineering to gether with vice deans of the Faculty and academic teachers of the CFAFE program, both from the Silesian University of Technology and AGH University of Science and Technology.

The commencement speech was given by Program Director Krzysztof Pikoń PhD DSc, who presented students with a vision of the program and challenges awaiting students in next semester. He officially welcomed new students in the program, and in name of the Innoenergy send wishes of many successes in developing their knowledge and shaping skills and compelenties needed for future successful career.

This is the beginning of hard and requiring year for students. Apart from regular classes, students will take part in additional courses in shaping competencies in problem solving, management, presentation etc. As the firs additional activity they will participate in PRINCE2 course (Foundation and Practitioner). As a part of learning by doing scheme students will organize EPAE 2017 Conference, planned on December 8, 2017. In the second semester they will participate in study visits in CFAFE industrial partners.

This the 5th year of CAFFE program. Since the beginning the group of students rose significantly. This year about 50 students are starting CFAFE program. Not only number of students but the program itself is developing as well. A lot of things were changed and improved. Now program is shaped according to the best world standards with significant industrial participation, modern teaching methods and extensive international cooperation offering valuable networking possibilities.
